Axel Plasse - Alpine Hypertech Director

Biography

Engineer by training, Axel Plasse possesses recognised expertise in motorsport and the development of cutting-edge technologies. Having graduated from ISAE-SUPAERO, IFPEN School, and HEC Paris, he began his career in 1993 at Renault Sport F1 as a bench test engineer. He then contributed to several major Formula 1 projects, notably as project director for the RS25 V10 engine, which secured Renault's first carmarker’s title.


After more than twenty years within Renault's motorsport division, Axel Plasse joined Renault Group in 2017 as Director of Engine and Gearbox Development Strategy for the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. In 2020, he joined the cross-functional team The Source and participated in the development of the "Renaulution" plan.


In 2021, he continued his industrial career at Valeo, where he held the position of R&D and Product Marketing Director for the Power Mechanical division.


Since joining Alpine in September 2025, Axel Plasse has held the reins as Director of Alpine Tech, based in Viry-Châtillon. His mission is to accelerate the site's transformation into a centre of excellence dedicated to advanced technologies and ultra-high-performance vehicles, serving the sporting and technological ambitions of Alpine and the Groupe Renault.
