Ferdinand Habsburg

Ferdinand Habsburg - WEC Alpine

Alpine welcomes a fresh face to the brand as Ferdinand Habsburg joins our Hypercar programme in 2024. He is proving to be a multidisciplined racing driver and his latent talent in Endurance racing ensured he was firmly on our radar ahead of this new challenge.

In 2021, the Austrian enjoyed a dream debut FIA World Endurance Championship season, winning both the title and the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMP2 category alongside Robin Frijns and fellow A424 driver Charles Milesi.

Ferdinand rubber-stamped his talent by winning the European title the following year while continuing to score solid results wherever he raced. After a convincing 2023 season in LMP2, he got behind the wheel of the Alpine A424 during its endurance testing at Motorland Aragón to familiarise himself with the car and the team.

“I'm thrilled to take on this challenge with Alpine,” Ferdinand assures. “No question, it's a step up from anything I've experienced in my motor racing career. From the day I signed with Alpine, I realised that my childhood dream had come true. “I immediately felt part of the team at Motorland, although the pressure was palpable for me. Beginning with an endurance format during testing can be difficult to get used to with a new environment, but I felt confident straight away. I can't wait to see what the 2024 season has in store for us.”
