A524

FORMULA 1

A524

The A524 is a brand-new concept created for the next two seasons and marked by innovative solutions as a result of learnings from previous iterations. The bold approach will allow the team to apply a stronger development path across the next two campaigns before the radical change in technical regulations following that.

The A524 is built across BWT Alpine F1 Team's two sites. Enstone is the heart of the team’s chassis operation and is overseen by Technical Director Matt Harman. On the other side of the Channel, Viry-Châtillon is the base of BWT Alpine F1 Team’s Power Unit design and development, overseen by Technical Director Eric Meignan.

Alpine A524
    • Chassis

The A524 chassis is made of a moulded carbon fibre and aluminium honeycomb composite monocoque, manufactured by BWT Alpine F1 Team and designed for maximum strength with minimum weight. The Renault E-Tech 2024 power unit is installed into the car as a fully stressed member.

    • Suspensions

The A524 front & rear suspensions uses carbon fibre top and bottom wishbones. Aluminium uprights are complimented by BBS standard machined magnesium wheel rims and FIA standard wheel covers.

    • Transmission & Hydraulic

The A524 features an eight-speed semi-automatic cassette gearbox with reverse gear, a hydraulically operated “Quickshift” system maximising speed and consistency of gearshifts with a hydraulically controlled differential, and a hydraulic supply for power unit actuation, power steering, DRS and clutch.

    • Fuel system

The A524 fuel system uses a kevlar-reinforced and homologated rubber fuel cell incorporating a scavenge to primer pump fuel supply system.

    • Braking system

The A524 braking system is made up of carbon discs and pads, and calipers and Master cylinders with fully integrated brake by wire system integrated with vehicle energy management systems.

    • Cockpit

The A524 cockpit features a removable driver’s seat made of anatomically formed carbon composite, with six-point harness seat belt and entire assembly ballasted up to 80kg, as well as the steering wheel which integrates gear change paddles, clutch paddles, DRS and driver display unit.
