A RETURN TO THE HIGHEST LEVEL

Alpine returns to the highest echelon of Endurance racing. Over 60 years of history enters a thrilling new hybrid era with the striking A424 Hypercar prototype. It aims to replicate Alpine’s famous 1978 24 Hours of Le Mans victory, targeting overall honours in the highly contested new Hypercar category of the FIA World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC).

An ongoing legacy

Alpine first entered Endurance racing 61 years ago, giving our new adventure an enthralling and emotional backstory. After our iconic A442B claimed Le Mans victory in 1978, we returned to WEC in 2013 alongside Signatech. World titles in the LMP2 category followed while our A480 stepped up to the series’ highest category in 2021 and 2022, claiming memorable wins, podiums and a vice-champion world title.

Perfect partnership

Extending our close-knit collaboration, the A424 combines the knowhow of Alpine Racing and Signatech with the unique styling of our sportscar design department. The result is a prototype that stands proud of its competitors. Its unmistakeably Alpine aesthetic exhibits some enticing design details which make it both efficient and beautiful to look at.

  We’ve spent ten successful years partnered with fellow French company Oreca, making it an obvious partner for the chassis of our new LMDh Hypercar competitor.

  The A424’s distinctive rear lighting proves the worlds of engineering and design can unite beautifully, proudly showing the brand’s arrowed A to the chasing pack of cars.
- Powerful source
  Alpine Racing’s experts in Viry-Châtillon worked with engine partner Mecachrome to produce a 3.4-litre V6. Its single-turbo layout is unique in the Hypercar category. Its single-turbo design is unique in the Hypercar category.

BUILDING A NEW LEGEND

The Alpine A424 has spent seven months testing, with sessions at Circuit Paul Ricard, Motorland, Jerez, Portimão and Barcelona. The testing program included a full 30-hour endurance practice in Aragón to help replicate the gruelling conditions of round-the-clock racing. Truly the perfect platform to prove the capabilities of our new competitor ahead of its debut World Endurance Championship season.
